No new domestically transmitted cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported on the Chinese mainland on Wednesday, Chinese health authority said Thursday.
The National Health Commission received reports of 34 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland on Wednesday, all of which were imported.
A total of 819 patients of the COVID-19 were discharged from hospitalWednesday on the Chinese mainland, according to the commission.
Altogether 70,420 patients had been discharged from hospital after recovery by the end of Wednesday.
As of Wednesday, a total of 80,928 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 had been reported on the mainland, and 3,245 people had died of the disease.
No new infections of the novel coronavirus were reported on Wednesday in Wuhan, Hubei, marking a notable first in the city’s months-long battle with the deadly virus.
The Chinese mainland reported 34 newly imported cases of the COVID-19 Wednesday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 189.
Of the 34 newly imported cases, 21 were reported in Beijing, nine in Guangdong province, two in Shanghai, one in Heilongjiang province and one in Zhejiang province, according to the commission.
